Our Services
We provide our platform and services to customers under contract, solely for their benefit and the benefit of their authorized users. This Privacy Notice does not apply to:
- Data uploaded or submitted by our Customers or their Authorized Users to the platform
- Third-party websites, products, or services that have their own privacy policies

Public Forums
Information posted in public forums (e.g., community pages) may be visible to others and searchable online.

AI and Machine Learning Services
How We Use AI
Trunknode uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance our Services, including:
- Conversational AI assistants that answer questions about your data
- Document understanding that summarizes and extracts insights from documents
- Image analysis that describes and indexes visual content
- Data visualization that generates charts and graphs from your datasets
- Content generation that creates titles, summaries, and descriptions
AI Service Providers
To deliver these AI features, we work with trusted AI providers:
- AWS Bedrock - Cloud-based AI service providing access to multiple foundation models from leading AI companies (Anthropic, Meta) for conversational AI, natural language understanding, and vision tasks
- Open-source models - Specialized embedding and vision models hosted on our secure infrastructure
When you use AI features, your prompts, data context, and conversation history are processed through AWS Bedrock. AWS processes this data solely to provide AI responses and does not use your data to train their foundation models.
AI Data Processing
What data is processed:
- Your questions and prompts
- Relevant portions of your datasets (documents, images, structured data)
- Conversation history to maintain context
- Metadata about your usage patterns
How long AI data is retained:
- Active conversation sessions: Stored for the duration of your session
- Conversation history: Retained in our systems with 8-hour automated cleanup for temporary queues
- Vector embeddings: Stored as long as you maintain the associated dataset
- Cached responses: Retained to improve performance, automatically invalidated when data changes
AI Training and Model Improvement
Trunknode does not use your data to train AI models. Your conversations, documents, and datasets are used solely to provide Services to you.
AWS Bedrock foundation model policy:
- AWS Bedrock does not use your prompts or responses to train Amazon or third-party foundation models
- Your data is processed temporarily to generate responses and then discarded according to AWS policies

Your data remains yours, and we do not contribute it to any AI training datasets.
AI-Generated Content
Content generated by AI systems (summaries, descriptions, responses) is:
- Not guaranteed to be accurate - AI can make mistakes or generate incorrect information
- Not a substitute for professional judgment - Always verify important information
- Your responsibility to review - You should evaluate AI outputs before relying on them
- Subject to the same usage terms - AI-generated content is part of your Customer Data
You are responsible for ensuring AI-generated content complies with applicable laws and regulations before publishing or sharing it externally.
Your AI Privacy Choices
You can:
- Limit AI usage - Use manual features instead of AI-powered ones
- Delete conversation history - Clear your AI conversation threads
- Control data sharing - Choose which datasets are accessible to AI features
- Request deletion - Ask us to delete your AI-related data by contacting privacy@trunknode.com
How We Share Your Information
- Affiliates and subsidiaries
- Service providers (e.g., billing, analytics, support)
- AI and ML providers (AWS Bedrock) for AI feature delivery

When you use AI features, we share necessary data with AWS Bedrock to generate responses. AWS Bedrock does not use your data to train foundation models.

Trunknode is based in the U.S. and may transfer data globally. We use safeguards including:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
- Data Processing Addenda (DPAs)
- Supplementary security measures

Marketing Opt-Out
Unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time via the link in the message.
Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Notice of Right to Opt Out of “Sales” and “Targeted Advertising”
Trunknode does not sell personal data for money. However, California law may define certain advertising-related disclosures as "sales" or "sharing."

Authorized Users
If your access is managed by your employer or sponsor, they may control your account and data. Please refer to their privacy policies.
Data Retention
We retain personal information based on the following:
Account data: For the duration of your account plus applicable legal retention requirements
Usage and analytics data: Typically 90 days to 2 years depending on the data type
Conversation history:
- Active sessions: Duration of session
- Message queues: 8 hours with automatic deletion
- Conversation threads: Retained until you delete them or close your account
- Conversation summaries: Retained as part of your account data
Vector embeddings and AI data: Retained as long as the associated dataset exists
Payment records: 7 years or as required by applicable financial regulations
Backup data: Up to 60 days post-account deletion, then securely and irreversibly deleted

Security
We implement technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your data.
However, no system is completely secure.
Third-Party Services
Some Services integrate with or link to third-party platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, GitHub).
These platforms have their own privacy policies.
Children's Data
Our Services are not intended for individuals under 18.
We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice periodically.

Sensitive Personal Information

- We may still require you to verify your identity directly
Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.
However, CCPA broadly defines "sale" and "sharing" to include disclosures for targeted advertising. We may disclose:
- Identifiers and internet activity to advertising networks
- This may constitute "sharing" under CCPA
